The Kendra is engaged in industrially manufacturing, artificial limbs for lower limb amputees and calipers, braces and shoes for persons afflicted by Polio, Cerebral Palsy and Muscular Dystrophy. In addition, during the fitting out process, Physiotherapy and Gait training is also provided to the patients who have access to a 12-bedded dormitory. All services are provided free of cost.

Rural Outreach Camps are also held to provide easy accessibility to Anga Karunya Kendra’s services and thereby create awareness of the services available to help the physically challenged in remote areas. The camps are most helpful to the people who come from the remote villages, and who are not able to come to Bangalore. Shortly a Mobile Fabrication Van will play a major part by providing the limbs right away at the spot itself- to the beneficiaries at the camp site. They no longer need to wait. Out reach Camps are conducted in the southern States of Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, Pucherry following our cherished credo of “ Enable the Disabled”.

The centre provides 30-40 limbs to beneficiaries on an average of a month. In addition Orthotic fitments have since increased and presently 75 to 100 beneficiaries are provided limbs, calipers, body braces and other services including referrals. Anga Karunya Kendra has developed network with other rural voluntary organizations, hospitals working with the disabled.
